There’s a Way to Deal With Damaged Hair (and Even an Art to Healing It)
From frizz to breakage, the New Dove Peptide Bond Repair offers a peptide-powered comeback for even the most damaged hair.
What if the signs of damage weren’t something to hide, but stories to build from? Inspired by Kintsugi, Dove’s latest launch reimagines hair care beyond a scientific breakthrough—it became an art form. After all, with bleach, heat, and humidity in the mix, damage is part of the journey.
At The Loft, Manansala, Dove threw a full-on “pep talk” for your strands with the launch of the Peptide Bond Repair System, a three-product range formulated to restore up to 90 percent of your hair’s inner bond strength. Launched as The Art of Hair Repair campaign, Dove invited guests to see hair care not as routine maintenance, but as a form of self-expression through art, science, and rituals.
Inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending damaged pottery with gold, the brand celebrated hair healing as something worth showing off. Attendees joined a Kintsugi workshop, explored an art exhibit with works by Soleil Ignacio, Ella Dayandante, Bel Weber, Ivee Penedo, and Coleen Real, a photo shoot, and got hands-on with the product range.

“Art has the extraordinary power to move people, to capture emotion, beauty, and connection in a single moment. We believe that great hair care is a form of art, too. One that touches the lives of people,” shares Kaye Sy, Dove Experience Lead. And the numbers, based on the brand’s research, say: one in 10 Filipinos deal with hair damage, and four out of five say they still haven’t found a solution that works. It’s insights like these that inspired the campaign and its golden nod to Kintsugi.
Erica Lau, Dove Philippines Research and Development lead, has studied what makes Filipino hair resilient and what breaks it—from environmental stressors that cause breakage to how to manage it daily.
Their research reveals: “Our hair is made up of 95 percent proteins,” shares Lau. “When you damage your hair, you essentially lose [them] in your hair. Because of peptides’ smaller molecular size, they are able to penetrate deeper into our hair fiber, more effectively delivering damage care to hair, restoring those broken peptide bonds within your hair strands.”

She further explained that this time around, they went beyond surface level with the Peptide Complex, unlike other products that just sit on the hair fiber’s surface, the system is designed to cater to people with extremely damaged hair: bleached, colored or chemically-treated.
Additionally, Lau also shares that the trio that makes up the Peptide Bond Repair is formulated with two technologies designed to mend your tresses: Advanced Fiber Shield Technology, which deposits the protein bonds inside the hair fiber, and Microsheet Patented Technology to detangle and smoothen hair. These innovative ingredients help with tangles, roughness, volume loss, and manageability.
Much like Kintsugi, Dove’s latest innovation isn’t about hiding the damage—it’s about honoring the journey to repair. In every drop, there’s a reminder that your hair deserves care, not compromise.
But what does repair actually look like, day to day?
Powered by Bio-Protein Care + Peptide Complex, the Dove Peptide Bond Repair System is designed to rebuild 90 percent of your hair’s inner bonds, while giving it the bounce, shine, and smoothness it deserves. Here’s how you can use this trio depending on what your tresses need:

To moisturize
Lather up with the Peptide Bond Repair Conditioner. It restores manageability and strengthens hair from within—no heavy residue, just smooth strands.
To deeply repair
Amplify your hair care with the Peptide Bond Repair Serum Mask. One use delivers benefits: frizz control, hydration, and damage repair from heat and chemicals, and 10 times stronger strands.
To nourish and protect
Spritz on the Peptide Bond Repair Bi-Phase Oil Serum Spray to give your mane an instant boost of shine. “What inspired the Bi-Phase serum and oil spray is the Philippine weather,” shares Lau. “Hair serums or hair oils in the market leaves your hair feeling heavy and greasy immediately after use—and that is a big no for us Filipinos.”
The leave-on spray pairs micellar serum with nourishing oil to deliver five times shine as it only uses 28 percent, 72-hour frizz protection, and heat defense. Use it on damp or dry hair for that just-left-the-salon look, anytime.
