From Brushes to Businesses: How Beauty Trained Her to Be a Boss
Beauty isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s what helped this entrepreneur build her businesses from the ground up.

It all started with a brush. In 2006, Aisa Fay Costo stepped into the world of beauty after studying at the Center for Aesthetic Studies (CAS). Costo trained everything from makeup techniques and hair styling to eyebrow microblading and other non-invasive procedures. For years, she worked on projects with magazines, billboards, TV commercials, and celebrities.

Today, Costo is no longer just behind the makeup chair. She’s behind two emerging businesses, Frostique Lounge and Grazing Society, both launched within the last year.
Where beauty and business intertwine
Frostique Lounge was born from Costo’s vision to offer a unique mobile bar experience. Instead of the usual cocktails, she discovered that guests enjoyed artisanal frozen drinks and ice-cold shots more, hence the name, Frostique. To complement this, she launched Grazing Society, a portable pantry with spreads of premium cold cuts, fruits, and other delectable treats.
And though she’s traded makeup kits for cocktails and charcuterie, everything she creates is still rooted in beauty. “My creative process for both my businesses is very much akin to how I approach a beauty look,” she shares. “It always begins with a visual concept, establishing the mood I want to convey, like choosing a color palette for makeup. Then I think about the full sensory experience, how it will feel, taste, and interact with the senses.”

For Frostique Lounge, it’s about perfecting the texture of the frozen drink, the balance of flavors, and of course, the presentation. For Grazing Society, that means layering textures and colors in a visually indulgent spread. “Just like in beauty, every detail matters. The final result has to look good, feel right, and leave a lasting impression.”
The art of connection
Costo credits the early success of her businesses to the years she spent in beauty. While the path may have changed, the principles remain the same. “The secret lies in connection,” she says.
“It wasn’t a sudden pivot,” Costo explains. “It was a natural evolution. In beauty, you are, in essence, selling your skills and personal brand. It requires a deep understanding of client psychology, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and presentation.”
From day one, Costo’s work has always been deeply personal and client-facing. For her, that genuine connection is what sets everything apart. “It’s what helps build trust,” she says. “It also gives you insight into what your customers really want and how to deliver it in a way that feels thoughtful and tailored.”
That same mindset shaped the way she built Frostique Lounge and Grazing Society. “It was a time of intense creativity,” she recalls. “I poured energy into developing each concept, crafting the visual identity, setting up the operations, and sourcing everything down to the last detail. These were my other passions I built from the ground up.”

A journey to something bigger
Whether Costo is preparing a beauty look or curating an event setup, her philosophy has always been about authenticity. “It’s about more than just the service, it’s about the feeling they get and the unique experience I provide that feels truly authentic and tailored,” she says.
Now balancing life as a mom and entrepreneur, Costo admits there are, of course, challenging days—but she takes them one step at a time. “Learn from it all,” she adds. “I’m still learning, and I truly believe that part never ends.”
Costo’s story is a powerful reminder that beauty isn’t just skin deep—it’s a skillset, a mindset, and a springboard for something greater. What began as a passion for artistry evolved into a purpose-driven journey rooted in creativity, connection, and reinvention.
From brushes to businesses, she has proven that beauty, when used with intention, can shape not just faces—but futures.
