When skin is the source

Before applying any kind of makeup product, makeup artist Mickey See, who collaborated with Allure Philippines for these looks, starts with a cleanse. “That’s my trick of the trade,” reveals See. “No matter who you are, if you don’t wash your face, there’s instant oil and dirt. And when the skin isn’t clean, makeup won’t stick.”

When skin is nourished, even the simplest touch of color comes alive. For this coral pout, See used the Rouge Hermès Silky Lipstick Shine in 28 Orange Flash as a base, then patted on a lip oil—the Hermèsistible Infused Care Oil in 02 Corail Bigarade—for added hydration.

Bioluminescence

You’ve heard the term “glowing from within,” and even that has its roots in nature. Some fauna can emit light, and that natural radiance was our starting point for this luminous blush look.

While most morenas grow up hearing they should stay away from brights, See doubled down on this archaic advice by going for twice the color. He suggests “combining a pink and a red blush, one warm-toned and one cool, so it blends and has dimension.” For heightened highlight, See topped off the cheekbones with the pink shimmer from the Ombres d’Hermes Eye Shadow Quartet in 01 Ombres Pétales. The result: a radiance that feels alive, natural, and lit from within.

Lashes in bloom

Inspired by the season’s most delicate lash embellishments, See turned to nature’s own materials—real flower petals—to frame the eyes. “Because these petals are softer than actual cluster lashes, I apply lash glue on both the petals and the eyelids, so they adhere faster.”

To enhance nature’s natural purple pigments, See went for a complementing blue-green hue (“It’s the same color family as violet.”) from the Ombres d’Hermes Eye Shadow Quartet in 12 Ombres Optiques.

A natural frame

We’ve seen brows go from skinny to sculpted, laminated to untamed. But for See, timelessness always wins. “I don’t follow trends. My main consideration is the shape of the face and the brows, not what’s popular.”

To capture that philosophy, he reimagined brows using clusters of foliage and flowers—a poetic nod to nature’s own symmetry. And just like the way blooms lift a mood, “the eyebrows can make a face look happier,” See adds.
