Beauty Beats: What to Expect at the First-Ever Filipino Music Awards
Allure Philippines keeps its eyes on the historic, inaugural Filipino Music Awards, where the most celebrated local acts promise to wow with their talent, creativity, and their beauty looks.
By Lia Cruz
Whether it was Cher’s dramatic false eyelashes and strong cheekbone contour in the 1970s, or JLo’s glowy caramel skin in the 2000s, we’ve always looked to music artists and pop stars for the next beauty trend throughout the years. Truth be told, some music superstars’ looks are so distinctive, they have even come to embody the zeitgeist of certain periods in time.
Here in the Philippines, we eagerly await the next looks that our favorite local artists unveil—whether on stage, or on the screen, or on social media. Our local artists are our trendsetters, our tastemakers, our beauty vanguards, and we wait with bated breath for what they will do next.
Allure Philippines has listed some of our favorite recent beauty looks that some of our local artists have posted on social media.
BINI
Filipino girl group BINI wows as they try on the toasty makeup trend for size. The caramel shades combine beautifully with their sunset-inspired blush colors, and that unexpected dewiness comes through to project soft glam all the way.
KZ Tandingan
One of the most celebrated artists of her generation, KZ Tandingan is all ice and cool with the gradient shades of blue eyeshadow, set off by a swipe of thick black, winged eyeliner, in a mish-mash of 60’s Twiggy style and Y2K makeup.
SB19
Pablo, Stell, Ken, Josh, and Justin pull off a look that successfully merges clean with grungy and edgy, combining cherry lips and flawless skin with smoky eyes and full brows.
G22
P-pop girl group G22 sports a look that blends dewy, glossy skin with subtle smoky winged eyes in brown tones, with those chiseled, illuminated cheekbones contrasting with soft, full, natural lips.
The Filipino Music Awards
On October 21, 2025, 6 P.M. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, you can expect even more striking and spectacular beauty looks, as over 500 musicians and music industry leaders will come together, with thousands of Filipino music fans, for the first ever Filipino Music Awards. This is the country’s largest and most prestigious celebration of Original Pilipino Music or OPM.
In a landmark event that will highlight distinctly Filipino creativity, talent, and artistry, the FMAs will honor the best of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) with 20 awardees across five categories, including the Genre Awards, the People’s Choice Awards, the Legacy Awards, the Grand Awards, and the Special Awards.
Each of these categories require a unique evaluation process that balances expert recognition, metric achievement, and the voice of our Filipino audience, cementing the FMAs as the definitive highest honor in the Philippine music industry.
On that night, expect OPM’s biggest acts to turn out in all their glory, sporting eye-catching beauty looks, as world-class performances will unite generations of Filipino talent together on the stage. These performances promise a spectacle to look forward to, and will honor both established icons and the next way of Filipino artistry.
For its historic inaugural iteration, the Filipino Music Awards will write a love letter to OPM—to its artists, record labels, creatives, and all the other pieces and people that hold it up and keep the music playing. And as the night wears on, it will write Filipino beauty history with all of its looks as well.
Complimentary tickets to the FMAs are available exclusively through the purchase of Filipino Music Awards Magazine Packages on SariSari.Shopping, beginning September 10 until October 19, 2025 only.
The Filipino Music Awards is produced by AGC Power Holdings Corp. and presented by its subsidiary, Modern Media Group Inc.
