The blank canvas of Whitespace Manila quickly filled with the creativity and energy of 19 emerging designers as it transformed into the BLANC: The SoFA 2025 Graduation Show runway last November 7, 2025.

Kicking off the night, Amina Aranaz Alunan, co-founder of SoFA Design Institute, set the tone for what the audience was about to witness. “This year’s show isn’t just about the artistry behind each garment,” she shares, “It’s a celebration of each designer’s DNA and the deeply personal journeys woven into every look.”

But those stories didn’t end with the clothes. The beauty looks added depth. The glam was the cherry on top, the final touches that elevated each collection more. They amplified the emotions and attitude (and just the right amount of drama) the designers wove into their narrative. Here are the standout hair and makeup moments that made the runway pieces shine even brighter.

Silver beads bedazzled the model’s face and shoulders, reminiscent of tiny rain droplets, perfectly complementing Joesua Daoang’s “Under Tension”—a collection that embodies softness and surrender.

Call it blush blindness in the best way possible—because honestly, you can never have too much blush. Red blush sweeps dramatically across the model’s cheeks and transitions all the way to the eyelids, creating a monochrome moment. Paired with a deep magenta lip and glossy, wavy, face-framing hair, they translate Janelle Hung’s “一二三 (yi er san, eng: 123)” vision.

Red eyeshadow smudged under the model’s eyes, partnered with a red lip, showcases the raw emotions at the core of Hung’s collection. The hair is elevated by L’Oréal Philippines through a messy updo with soft braids framing the face, an intentional imperfection that ties the whole look together.

Looking for an “I’m cold” makeup inspo? White eyelashes, white liner, and a baby pink flush that adorned the model’s face perfectly mimics the sting of chilly air—all tied together with the white clothing from Deni Garcia’s “E·QUI·LIB·RI·UM.”

Deep burgundy lip immediately sets the dramatic and intense tone of the garment. Paired with a bold fox liner and subtle black shadow, the look captures the emotional weight of Gab Landicho’s “The Tortured White Dove.”

Pop of green

A pop of green eyeshadow brings the perfect contrast to Venice Collera’s “Let Nature Take Its Course.” The eye look reflects the collection’s message of resilience—beauty found through endurance, blooming, and becoming your fullest self.

Green also resurfaces through the under eyeshadow and the neon highlights of the model for Emir Loresto’s “M.E.”, a collection inspired by music as a refuge and as a path to discovering one’s true self.

In collaboration with Cetaphil, dewy skin completely steals the spotlight. The morena glow of the model subtly complements Kevin Dela Cruz’s “Letter,” a collection built on tender messages to one’s past selves.

Beauty took center stage

If the garments laid the foundation, the beauty looks were the finishing touch—the shimmer, the smudge, the pop of color that brought each design to life. BLANC proved how hair and makeup don’t just complement fashion; they expand it, sharpen it, and at times even steal the show. In
