Day 1 brought beauty insiders together for a high-intensity, low-impact workout that proved strength and focus go hand in hand.

On a sweltering Monday morning, amidst the cacophony of the city’s many traffic jams, Allure Philippines Wellness Week finally kicked off. The series of pocket events held all over the city, aims to highlight the many facets of modern wellness, ranging from physical fitness to health checks, mental and even spiritual therapy, as well as to bring together diverse groups of people over green juice, grateful circles, and a little (okay, a lot) friendly competition.
First thing in the morning
Allure Philippines Wellness Week started strong with Ultra Lagree, the only Lagree-certified studio in the country. Two sessions were held at the Estancia Mall branch, attended by sports team owner Mandy Romero, and beauty and lifestyle content creators Belle Rodolfo, Jackie Go, and Cat Arambulo Antonio. Models Sam Santamaria and Brent Javier were also present, as well as actors Lexi Gonzales and Gil Cuevas.

The event was co-chaired by Janine Recto, VP of Asia Media Brands for One MEGA Group. Inc., and Lagree enthusiast. She welcomed each batch with a short speech and took part in the first session. “One is enough!” she shared with a laugh, noting that the session led by instructor Kathleen Serrano, was “harder than usual.”
Fellow Lagree devotee Arambulo Antonio echoed her sentiments, sharing that she always goes back to the class for its body and mood-boosting effects.
A strong start
The back-to-back classes started promptly at 9 A.M. Participants padded their grip socks to the center of the black-painted studio, taking one Megaformer each—the main fitness machine of Ultra Lagree.
Featuring multiple springs and two moving platforms, the outsized machine can be daunting to newcomers, but Serrano assured the class that it’s supposed to make the class’ transitions smoother and easier, helping students optimize their movements.

Each Ultra Lagree session takes about 45 minutes and offers strength, endurance, cardio, balance, and flexibility benefits. Slow and steady movements are preferred and getting the “shakes” (when a limb, usually your legs jerk involuntarily) is normal as the moves target small muscle groups.
“The Ultra Lagree class was a fun yet challenging full-body workout, with a strong emphasis on the core. The sequences pushed balance, stability, and strength while encouraging participants to reach that shake point through different variations and controlled movements,” shares Serrano.
“It was a perfect fit for Allure Philippines Wellness Week, as it highlighted the importance of both physical strength and mental focus.”

Giving your all
There was certainly a lot of (nervous) laughter and shaking during both classes, but thankfully there was a variety of chilled Pure Nectar juices on hand, as well as exclusive Allure Philippines merch, including sweat-wicking shirts, embroidered cotton towels, and a new colorway of the Allure Philippines tote bag.
“I really enjoyed the whole experience because I had a feeling it would attract people who already love Lagree or were curious to try it as part of improving their overall fitness,” says Recto. “It was so refreshing to be surrounded by people who were genuinely excited to be there and up for a challenge. The energy in the room was contagious—it pushes you to show up fully and give it your all.”
