Marking a milestone with The Truth Issue

Closing the program, Allure Philippines editor in chief Rissa Mananquil Trillo highlights the significance of The Truth Issue in today’s beauty climate. “Today marks a milestone—not just for Allure Philippines, not just for beauty media, but for every Filipino who has ever felt pressured to look perfect before feeling worthy,” she says.

“This issue belongs to everyone who has ever dimmed their light to fit into someone else’s idea of beauty. It belongs to the women who grew up believing they had to shrink, erase, lighten, or hide parts of themselves to be accepted. It belongs to the next generation who deserve to inherit a world where beauty doesn’t come with conditions.”

Mananquil Trillo adds, “Today, Nadine Lustre makes history not just as the cover star of our newest issue. She is also the woman making history as Allure Philippines’ first solo three-cover release.”

In her cover story, Lustre reveals her perspective on truth and authenticity: “It’s being honest about who I really am—even things that I don’t like about myself, and the things that I have accepted. It’s being open, and not ashamed.”
