If you ask lifestyle and beauty content creator Lierge Perey if her makeup routine changes for tropical weather, the answer isn’t a complete overhaul. “I’m still very much a full glam girl with foundation, skin tint, and all,” says Lierge. “I just make sure to choose more lightweight and non-sticky products during hotter months.”

One quick look inside her bag already tells you that she stays true to being a “full glam girl.” In one of her Instagram posts, she carries a mix of lip gloss, foundation, stick highlighter, and lip liner—more beauty products than utility items. But when it comes to what she calls a “true” essential for glowing skin, the can’t-miss items are blotting paper and sunscreen. “They’re just super convenient when you’re always out or wearing makeup.”

When we asked her why she always reaches for sunscreen, her answer is also pretty straightforward: “I want to age beautifully.” She continues, “I think that’s really the essence of wearing sunscreen, protecting your skin and preventing premature aging. Aside from the physical aspects, it’s also important for your overall skin health, since too much sun exposure can lead to more serious things like skin cancer.”

Over the years, her beauty habits and recommendations have worked their way into her audience’s daily routines, with fans even calling it the “Lierge Effect.” For sun protection, she says her routine tends to shift toward lighter, more breathable textures on days when she’s out and about. Among her current sunscreen rotation are SOLA’s newest SPF launches—the Aqua Serum Sunscreen SPF 50+/PA++++ and Tone-Up BB+CC Cream SPF 50 PA++—have earned a place in her lineup.

She shares, “I also make sure the sunscreen works well under makeup and doesn’t pill. That way I still get the protection while making sure my makeup stays fresh and long-lasting throughout the day.”

Versatility is also what SOLA aims for, offering sun protection in different formats with a recently expanded SPF lineup with two new additions: the SOLA Aqua Serum Sunscreen SPF 50+/PA++++ and the SOLA Tone-Up BB+CC Cream SPF 50/PA++.

A go-to sun protection of Lierge for errand days or no-makeup makeup days, the SOLA Tone Up BB+CC Cream SPF 50+PA++ is a brightening tinted sunscreen designed to illuminate and enhance skin radiance. It is a universal shade formulated with tone-adapting pigments that adjust to your natural skin tone. It is also lightweight, non-greasy, and infused with Paeonia Lactiflora root extract to brighten skin and deliver long-lasting hydration.

For everyday wear and beach trips, the 23-year-old Lierge says that the SOLA Aqua Serum Sunscreen SPF 50+/PA++++ is always within reach. For her, it’s a must-have before makeup. Just like its SOLA counterparts, it’s lightweight and non-greasy, and is formulated with a blend of Korean Black Ginseng, hyaluronic acid, and cica extract to help boost skin’s hydration, brighten complexion, and help soothe skin—especially on days spent under the sun. She adds that reapplication is also easy with the SOLA Glow Guard Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+/PA++++, for sanitary purposes. “It’s easier and less messy,” she says.

The SOLA Foundation Primer SPF 50+/PA+++ is a skin tint that smooths skin, controls oil, and conceals pores and redness. It has a watery-cream texture for easy blending, and comes in five easy-to-wear shades: Ivory Beige, Light Beige, Natural Beige, Sand Beige, and Caramel Beige. It is formulated to stay on the skin for 18 hours and is infused with Korean Black Ginseng to boost hydration and brighten skin. It also provides broad-spectrum UV protection to help minimize signs of premature aging.

While there’s still a perception that sunscreen can feel heavy or inconvenient—and while experts recommend reapplying every 2 hours—Lierge believes that finding the right sunscreen is ultimately a process of trial and error. “I’ve bought a lot of sunscreens before that I ended up not liking. There are so many different types now, so it’s really about finding what works best for your lifestyle and skin type. And for me, it’s also such a small price to pay if it means taking care of your skin long term.”
