Handloom-woven cotton, hemp, and silk. Batik drawing. Traditional beeswax stone painting.

At Fashion Week Asia 2026 at Palacio de Memoria, Kilomet109 showcased its Quyên Collection, which put Vietnamese craftsmanship front and center. Founded by designer Thảo Vũ, the sustainable fashion house works with artisan communities across Vietnam, turning generations of indigenous tradition into modern design.

The beauty looks followed that same idea. Lead makeup artist Gery Penaso for MAC Cosmetics kept skin natural and glowing, with warm tones, translucent finishes, and a light-handed wash of color—as if there was nothing there. Cream Silk’s slew of hairstylists finished the looks with healthy-looking, natural, and texturized hair.

“For the beauty looks, we combined the natural, very nude, and healthy-looking glow [of the skin] to bring out the colors of the natural dyes from the fabrics we used,” Vũ tells Allure Philippines.

The result was a union of art—both original and artistic.

No product, no heat. The hair at Kilomet109’s show was left to look like itself: healthy, glossy, and styled as is—just the way it frames the model’s face. If the model had some texture in their hair, the emphasized it even more.

Think skin that looks like skin, only better-rested with a hint of shine. For this look, the coverage stayed sheer enough to let the skin peek through, with a natural glow instead of a heavy matte base. From afar, it looked like they weren’t wearing makeup at all.

Instead of a defined blush or eyeshadow placement, color was brushed on like watercolor—soft and diffused. On the eyes, warm tones like terracotta and brick complemented the indigos and blues seen on the runway. Meanwhile, warm browns on the cheekbones gave the features definition, and orange-toned blushes gave the cheeks a slight wash of color.

Frequently Asked Questions

Translucent, glowing skin paired with warm washes of terracotta and brick on the eyes, warm browns on cheekbones instead of blush, and natural, heat-free hair that let each model’s texture show through.

MAC Cosmetics lead makeup artist Gery Peñaso created the looks for Kilomet109’s Quyên Collection show, keeping makeup soft and translucent to complement designer Thao Vu’s handwoven textiles and natural dyes.

Color was brushed on like watercolor to stay soft and diffused, with warm terracotta and brick tones on the eyes echoing the indigos and blues in the collection’s handwoven fabrics.

Cream Silk’s hairstylists used no product and no heat, leaving hair healthy and glossy. Where a model had natural texture, stylists emphasized it rather than smoothing it for the runway.

Designer Thao Vu said the team aimed for a natural, nude, healthy-looking glow to let the collection’s natural dyes stand out, keeping beauty secondary to the handloom-woven cotton, hemp, and silk.
