It’s a special kind of connection that mothers and daughters share—a bond that’s a joy to witness when both mother and daughter are on the same page. There’s an ease to their energy, and a warm familiarity and intimacy in their interactions—little hints at a deep and wonderful relationship. Celebrity mother-daughter tandem actress Gabbi Garcia and flight purser Tes Lopez are that kind of duo—a mother and a daughter who are not just on the same page, but seem to be perfectly in sync on all levels.
This pair readily admits that they are incredibly close, and share many things between them—whether values, interests, and yes, even beauty products. In an exclusive interview with Allure Philippines, Garcia and Lopez have a chat about each other’s favorite beauty products, must-haves, and habits, and reveal how they well they know each other in the process—beauty-wise, at least.
What’s her favorite beauty product right now?
GABBI: My mom’s favorite beauty product right now…I feel like it’s her serum with PDRN. She’s so into PDRN right now. Like, she’s going gaga over PDRN.
TES: (to Gabbi) Ikaw? Mist.
GABBI: Yeah. It’s also summer kasi. Parang in between the day, kailangan ko mag re-spray ng mist.
What’s her go-to lipstick shade?
TES: For Gab? More of a brown shade. Not pink, right?
GABBI: Yeah, tama. I don’t like pink.
TES: I knew it.
GABBI: She knows that. Maybe if I’m going to go for pink, it’s more on the mom tone. Not like the pink, baby pink. My mom? Red. Classic red lip.
What’s a beauty product that’s always in her bag?
GABBI: For my mom? Lotion, hand cream. Tama ba?
TES: Yeah. Gloss, for you.
GABBI: Yeah, true.

What’s her signature scent?
GABBI: Oh, my mom’s signature scent. She loves LV Spell On You. Very romantic, very fresh, and very sweet.
TES: Ikaw yung Chanel.
GABBI: Yeah, Chanel Gabrielle.
TES: Powerful.
What’s her favorite “me-time” activity?
GABBI: Favorite “me-time” of my mom? (looks at Tes) One, two, three. Massage.
TES: Massage. Going to the spa.
GABBI: Parehas kami ng sagot. Going to the spa.
TES: Whole body hilot massage.
GABBI: Gusto naming yung mga may banana leaves, ‘tas may mga stones, tapos may magic diyan.
What’s her favorite step in doing makeup?
GABBI: Maybe applying her red lip. She likes MAC Russian Red. Pwede i-co-coach ko siya? (emphasizes her eyelashes)
TES: Eyelashes! (Gabbi laughs)

What’s one thing she love about her natural look?
GABBI: I think her dimples.
TES: Yes. (points to her dimples)
GABBI: I got my dimples from her.
TES: Ako naman. Her skin. No pores. See. No pores.
What’s one beauty tip you learned from her?
GABBI: Beauty is not just in the physical, but you also have to be happy that you’d be naturally beautiful.
TES: And you have to be kind. So it radiates.
GABBI: Ok po. May sermon. (laughs)
Gabbi Garcia is currently into PDRN (polynucleotide), a regenerative skincare ingredient her mother Tes Lopez introduced her to. She describes her mom as “going gaga” over it, suggesting it’s a shared enthusiasm in their household.
Gabbi Garcia’s signature scent is Chanel Gabrielle, which her mother Tes Lopez describes as “powerful.” Her mother, meanwhile, wears Louis Vuitton Spell On You — a scent Gabbi characterizes as romantic, fresh, and sweet.
Tes Lopez favors MAC Russian Red, a classic red lip that her daughter Gabbi Garcia helps her apply. Gabbi assists by placing cluster lashes to complete the look — a beauty ritual the two share regularly.
Both Gabbi Garcia and her mother Tes Lopez share a love of spa massages — specifically full-body hilot massages with oil, warm stones, and banana leaves. They gave the same answer simultaneously when asked about their favorite me-time activity.
Tes Lopez’s beauty philosophy centers on inner beauty: be kind, because it radiates outward. Gabbi adds that true beauty comes from happiness — a perspective she credits to her mother and frames as the foundation of a naturally beautiful look.
