But what does representation mean to those who have also represented the Philippines on the global stage?

In this Allure Philippines special feature, we speak with trailblazing Filipinos—Carlos Yulo, Bea Millan-Windorski, Alodia Quimbo, Winwyn Marquez, Yllana Aduana, Evan Tan, LA Aguinaldo, and Andrea Torres—about the importance of Filipino representation and the significance of seeing ourselves reflected in the pages of an international magazine like Allure Philippines, as we celebrate our historic cover with Katseye and their role in redefining global beauty during the opening night of the first-ever Allure Beauty Lab.

Actually, first time ko din po sa ganitong event, and the magazines also I saw them. It’s my first time seeing those kinds of [looks].  I’m just really glad and happy that I could experience these things. 

You’ve represented the Philippines on the global stage as an Olympic champion. How do you feel about Katseye being celebrated tonight as the new face of global beauty with Allure Philippines?

It’s like sports din. Magkaibang larangan lang pero yung support [pareho malaki]. And they’re doing good. I’m really proud of them and of course, sa buong [Allure Philippines] team na gumawa nito and sumuporta po, I’m really happy and proud sa ginawa po nila.

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating Katseye’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on an international stage?

For me as an [athlete], ganoon din. Isa lang po yung pinaglalaban namin and through beauty yung kanila and aesthetics. And para sakin, they’re really doing good and doing really great patuloy lang po. Let’s support each other po kahit magkaibang larangan po.

Bea Millan-Windorski

Bea Millan-Windorski is ready to carry the Philippines with pride as she prepares to compete in the 75th edition of Miss Universe. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and deeply rooted in her Filipino heritage, the beauty queen, model, and advocate shares how Katseye’s cover celebrates the best of Filipino culture—something she hopes to carry with her on her own global journey.

It’s really exciting that Allure Philippines was able to initiate a global partnership. Often, when we look at titles all around the world, they specify in just one region. But the fact that Allure [Philippines] was able to unite the world around one global girl group is really innovative and it really is promoting the future of publishing. 

As we launch our Volume 4 print issue, how do you feel about the role of print magazines today?

Keeping magazines in print is really important as a creative, as someone who is also a writer and a model. Magazines are the heartbeat of the creative industry and there’s something so special about holding a physical copy of a print magazine. There’s nothing like cracking open a brand new issue. So, I really am so thankful that both Allure [Philippines]  and so many titles across the Philippines are still able to print and not just go fully digital.

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

One of the things that makes Filipino culture so special is how welcoming we are, how welcoming we are to global girl groups like Katseye. The fact that we’re able to see ourselves in individuals like Sophia, but then also able to welcome all girls of different nationalities.

So, thank you to Allure Philippines for making this partnership happen and let the world know the hospitality of the Filipino people. 

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating KATSEYE’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on the international stage—especially as someone who will soon represent the Philippines globally?

It’s really cool that so many parts of the world and so many beauty standards are able to be represented side by side with each other. Because a group like Katseye, where each girl brings her own unique beauty, their own individuality, shows that it’s our uniqueness and who we are that makes us shine as a person rather than trying to be anyone else. 

So, as we welcome [Katseye] onto the cover of a Filipino magazine and as we hopefully welcome them here to perform one day, I feel like Allure Philippines teaches us a lot about self-acceptance and Katseye does as well, embracing our natural skin tone, embracing our more ethnic features and I hope to represent the kind of Filipina who embraces that on the international stage.

LA Aguinaldo

LA Aguinaldo is no stranger to the spotlight. The Filipino content creator and model has graced the covers of various magazines and recently represents the Philippines as a constant fixture on the international fashion week circuit. Today, he shares how Katseye on the cover of Allure Philippines brings us closer as a global community.

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

With every aspect of beauty it really intertwines with our lifestyles, whether it’s beauty in terms of how we dress, beauty in terms of how people wear their makeup, or beauty in how they just want to present themselves. So I think this intersection with Katseye [is] celebrating each other’s individuality and personality through beauty as well.

It’s not only a showcase, but it’s a place where we can share and collaborate with each other’s beauty secrets, beauty regimens, and just celebrate what makes each people beautiful.

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating KATSEYE’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on the international stage? 

You know what Katseye represents? I think the modern era in which there’s different types of beauty where you get so many different personalities in Katseye.

And that also reflects the beauty we see in each of the members. That’s why people relate with them so much because there’s just someone you can relate with in the group. So I think that just draws us in closer and just makes us feel like we’re in a community and we get to celebrate each other’s individuality.

Alodia Quimbo

Alodia Quimbo is a pioneer in Philippine cosplay and esports. The model, cosplayer, and entrepreneur helped cosplay go mainstream in the Philippines and beyond.  She later co-founded Tier One Entertainment, one of Southeast Asia’s most prominent gaming and esports talent agencies, before exiting in 2023. Today, she shares what Katseye represents as a global phenomenon.

I’m so happy you have Katseye because I’m a huge fan. They’re actually one of the artists who sang a song for Valorant, which I closely work with for gaming as well. 

As we launch our Volume 4 print issue, how do you feel about the role of print magazines today?

I’m really happy that magazines are around to inspire people because I mean, we do a lot of digital, we do a lot of stuff online, but something tangible is something that you hold on to. It’s part of history. It’s something you pass on to the next generation. It’s part of history. 

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

It means that Allure Philippines is not just in the Philippines. It’s a global thing. Katseye is a global phenomenon. I’ve been watching them from the start when they were starting the group and I’m happy we’re able to connect to them through Allure Philippines.

The fact that Katseye is representing Allure Philippines means that there’s really diversity because Katseye has a lot of different members. It’s not just one race. They’re very open to different types of [backgrounds and identities], so that’s pretty good.

With millions of followers on social media, content creator Evan Tan is a prominent figure in making Korean Entertainment reachable to many Filipinos. It means that beauty is really just going across the globe and there are really no standards to it. You know Katseye is a group with so many different people from different walks of life, different ethnicities, so it’s so nice that they’re all together in this cover which just shows how united we kind of are in terms of beauty.

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating KATSEYE’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on the international stage? 

Well similarly to what I said,  seeing different nationalities in one cover really shows just how open the world is now. You know back then it was kind of hard to get like different races, like Asian representation wasn’t really a thing, but now seeing that it’s everywhere, it’s just really amazing to see this happening all at once.

Yllana Marie Aduana 

Yllana Marie Aduana definitely knows what it means to represent the Philippines on the global stage. After being crowned Miss Earth Air in 2023 and later becoming Miss Universe Philippines 2025 2nd Runner-Up, she understands why it matters to see  Filipino talent on the global stage She also shares  how she’s beaming with pride in seeing a fellow Filipina make  history on the global stage.

That’s amazing! I mean, we’re very much excited to see what [Allure Philippines] is featuring. But yes, I’m looking forward to seeing articles that are into wellness and beauty and, of course, Filipino craftsmanship.

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

It’s amazing. Every time a Filipino skill or talent or craftsmanship is really brought up, I’m into it and I’m really sold because I’m really proud to be Filipina. At this point, there’s so many things we offer as Filipinos. And Katseye, again, Sophia being a part of it, it’s really a proud moment.

Winwyn Marquez

Winwyn Marquez knows what it feels like to stand out in spaces where Filipinos were rarely represented before.As the first Filipina and Asian to be crowned in the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant in 2017, she knows, although never been done before, that it is possible to break new ground. Now, she shares how a group like Katseye encourages more people to never be afraid of doing something new.

Oh my god, Katseye, I love them. They’re the definition for me of confidence. Confidence and not being afraid of trying new things and I just love how fun it is.

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

I’m just so honored to be here and I love that Allure [Philippines] pushes for confidence, for power, for inclusivity and that means just the power of change. Again, I’m using the word power and that’s what Allure [Philippines] is for me now. 

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating Katseye’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on an international stage?

We need to accept who we are. I love how Allure [Philippines] shows trends but at the same time, it doesn’t push you to just follow it. A champion of saying whatever you’re comfortable with, stay with that. Don’t let other people tell you what and what not to do. 

As we launch our Volume 4 print issue, how do you feel about the role of print magazines today?

I love holding physical copies! It’s different when you are holding one. It’s different when you are really looking at it. Iba talaga yung mayroon kang hawak, yung experience. Tangible. You can keep it. 

I remember when I was in high school, when I had a magazine, ilalagay ko agad sa journal ko, magcucut-out ako, and I will get inspiration from that. You can hang it on your wall, you can always see it. The experience is there. 

Andrea Torres

Television actress Andrea Torres has taken on countless roles throughout her career that reflect Filipino stories and experiences, later stepping onto the global stage with her international film Pasional. Today, she shares how this historic cover allows the Philippines to showcase Filipino talent on a global stage.

I love it. It’s very fresh. It’s new. It’s fun. 

Katseye represents a new generation of global artists. What does it mean to celebrate this intersection of Filipino identity, global pop culture, and beauty through Allure Philippines?

I’m just happy to be here. I think this is a big moment for makeup brands, not just makeup, skin care. We have a lot of Filipino brands coming up, lots of launches. So I’m proud to be Filipino because I think we have world-class products now.

A lot of Filipinas are also getting noticed abroad. So our worlds are becoming bigger and it’s a big opportunity for us to just showcase what being Filipina is all about. 

As Allure Philippines joins the global community in celebrating Katseye’s historic cover, how do you see this moment shaping the future of beauty representation on an international stage?

This is a great first step. This [Allure Beauty Lab] event looks amazing. It’s truly world-class and I love that each booth has an immersive experience.
