The Senses Tour: A Breakdown of the Most Visited Space at the Allure Beauty Lab
Here’s how Allure Philippines brought its most immersive beauty experience to life.
By Nina Cortez
“Beauty should [come from the] inside out,” said AGC Power Holdings Corp. CEO Archie Carrasco on the opening night of the Allure Beauty Lab, Allure Philippines’ inaugural initiative on championing responsible consumption within today’s hyper-saturated digital landscape.
“So, when you talk about beauty, you [should] also talk about the senses that come with it,” Carrasco continues. He’s right, after all. If beauty has taught us anything today, it’s that it rarely reveals itself in a single, monolithic manner. In the creator economy, beauty equally finds its home in glossy magazine photos, in the colors we swatch on the back of our hands, the wellness rituals we swear by, or at the viral fragrance launch filling our feeds.
Yet, this idea of beauty does not come without its drawbacks. While beauty has never been more accessible, understanding which claims are backed by science—and which are simply trends—requires trusted expertise. At the same time, we are constantly cocooned by a culture of consumption through beautifully packaged products and curated hype. Every campaign is now wrapped in a bow, every routine is pre-packaged with a tutorial, and every recommendation is only a search bar away. When beauty has become this easy and palatable, what does it actually mean now to experience it?

As the beauty experts, that one question came as the foundation for vitalizing the biggest beauty event of the year. Rather than filling rooms with static rows of product displays, Allure Philippines reimagined SMX Aura as a playground where people could freely trust and exercise their senses before the algorithm and trending products could dictate it for them.
And the result? The Senses Tour — five, larger-than-life immersive installations, each designed around one of the 5 senses. Instead of prescribing beauty definitions for each guest, every room installation created space for them to experience it through their own terms.
“At Allure Philippines, we believe user-generated content should be more than aesthetically pleasing—it should be useful, honest, and responsible,” notes Allure Philippines editor-in-chief Rissa Mananquil Trillo. She explains further, “Rather than designing spaces that simply look beautiful on camera, we wanted to create experiences that encourage people to engage with beauty through all five senses and form their own opinions before sharing them.”
The Senses Tour
At the heart of the event were 5 interconnected rooms: The Senses Tour. Each room was meticulously designed to redefine beauty into a tangible experience as it invited beauty enthusiasts from all walks of life to slow down and engage with beauty through sight, scent, sound, touch, and taste. As the compact mirror comes to a close on the inaugural Allure Beauty Lab, we revisit the rooms that drew the busiest crowds last weekend, and break down the idea behind each installation:
Glow and Touch

The Senses Tour started off with the Glow and Touch room. Glow and Touch is composed of 15 interactive luminous balls that respond to a single tap—with each tap prompting the LED orbs to change color, creating an ever-changing display of light coming from inside the balls that illuminate around the room. Beneath them, a mirrored floor amplified the changing lights, creating the illusion of an endless field of reflections. More than simply observing the installation, Glow and Touch encouraged guests to interact with it, a reminder that beauty always begins with curiosity.
The Spectrum Hall

To the left of the Glow and Touch room is the Spectrum Hall. Created in collaboration with AVOlution Inc., the Spectrum Hall unfolded as a revelation of sight through a diverse array of beauty in every color & shape. A wall of eyeshadow palettes flashed in the LED screens, and alongside it stood an opportunity for guests to see themselves reflected on the walls after taking a picture on the photobooth.
More than a visual spectacle, the Spectrum Hall was one of the few reminders on sight: beauty isn’t confined to a single look, shade, or standard. Here, the eyes were invited to take in the many expressions of beauty—ultimately reflecting one that looked like us.
Scent Space

It’s common knowledge that scents have a unique way of staying with people—that even after a moment has passed, a familiar fragrance has the power to transport us to a familiar place, to a shared experience, or a childhood memory.
Created in collaboration with Filipino niche fragrance house Tadhana, the installation displayed 9 gypsum smelling cubes that were supplied as sensory portals to the Philippine archipelago. Stepping into the fog-filled space invited people to journey through scents, all while introducing a new generation of Filipino perfumers.
Soundscape Room

It’d be difficult to find someone today who isn’t looking for ways to destress. While there’s no switch for relaxation, research suggests that certain types of sound—such as binaural beats and colored noise—may help influence brain activity associated with focus, calm, and sleep.
Allure Philippines did exactly that—and brought the Soundscape life. Designed in synergy with Sony and experienced through the brand’s 1000X The Collexion noise-canceling headphones, the room immersed guests in layered soundscapes inspired by different brainwave states, from calming alpha frequencies, active & alert beta waves, to deeply restorative delta rhythms. More than simply listening, guests were invited to experience how sound can quiet the mind, sharpen focus, and become part of a more intentional beauty ritual.
Potion Room

And at the final leg of the installment was the Potion Room, dedicated to the sense of taste. If skin care is often thought of as what we apply on our skin, this room reminded guests that beauty also begins with what we nourish our bodies with. Wellness shots and nutrient-rich elixirs distributed at free emphasize that healthy habits are just as much a part of a beauty routine as serums and moisturizers.
Trusting the Senses
As the sun sets on the final day of the Allure Beauty Lab, it becomes clear that the event was never just about discovering the next beauty favorite. Each installation encouraged guests to look beyond the hype we see on the daily: to ask questions, to engage their senses, and to form opinions grounded in firsthand experience.
That has always been the heart of Allure Philippines. In a beauty landscape shaped by endless recommendations and carefully curated feeds, the inaugural Allure Beauty Lab created a shared space for something more valuable than any product. It created the opportunity for people to experience beauty firsthand before adding their voice to the conversation—and to do so with honesty, intention, and responsibility.
